Here's a mind boggler: Why would any company stick responsibility for the website in the IT department!?!?
I talked to the head of marketing in a pretty large company today. He said he doesn't handle the website, it's in the IT department. I asked him why that wasn't part of the company marketing department, he said they don't consider it to be a part of marketing!
Now that really makes me wonder. If the website is not a marketing tool for the company, what's the website for?
Back to a previous discussion - when does a business owner buy anything for the company that doesn't save time, make money or solve a problem? I guess the answer, in this case, is the website!
Maybe one day the company owner will fire the head of marketing and get an employee who understands how to use a website as part of the company marketing plan.
